In light of the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have determined that it is necessary to cancel the 2020 Indy Irish Festival. We make this decision with heavy hearts, but believe that this decision is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of our festival attendees, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and the community at large. While our mission has always been to preserve and promote Irish culture through the showcase of the brilliant music, dance, history, culture, food and drink that represents Ireland, the safety of those involved is our highest priority. While the information surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is changing on a daily basis, the successful execution of each year’s festival involves significant upfront planning and logistics with attendees, vendors, and entertainers from across the state, country, and the world. In fairness to all those involved, we felt that it was best to make the decision to cancel sooner rather than later. With a number of variables, changing almost daily, the safest, and most financially sound choice is to put the fest on hold until 2021. We understand this is disappointing to you all; it is equally, if not more disappointing to us. With all of the exciting plans we had for the 25th anniversary, it was an even tougher decision to make. However, the risk to the festival involves so many unknowns at this point that we made the call we felt we had to. (We’re crying into our Guinness//Harp//Ring of Dingle!) Tickets purchased during our March 2020 promotion will be honored for the 2021 Indy Irish Festival. Ticket holders do not need to do anything to have their tickets honored for 2021. For those who do not want their tickets passed to 2021, you can: 1) Donate the money to the Indy Irish Festival to assist in continuing our mission. 2) Receive a refund for the cost of the ticket(s) If you do not want your tickets honored in 2021, email your preference to irishinfo@indyirishfest.com. We’d like to thank all of our fans, sponsors, performers, vendors, and volunteers that have supported us for the last 25 years! We couldn’t do it without you! We look forward to the massive celebration that 2021 holds and can’t wait to get back at it. In fact, we have already started planning for it. Sláinte!
