  • by

With Saint Patrick’s Day fast approaching the time is here for everyone to get their tickets for the Breakfast program. It will be as delicious as always with the fine dining one associates with the Indiana Roof and our entertainment for this year should have something for everyone. The day begins at 10:30 am Sunday March 15th at St John’s Church by blessing the A.O.H. Celtic Cross. Mass will follow immediately and around 12 pm there is a parade from St. John’s to the Indiana Roof Ballroom. There will be a short social period and then an invocation at 12:40 followed by, the luncheon. At 1:20 emcee Father Glenn O’Connor will speak and entertainment, Brian Cunningham and the Irish Airs, guest vocalist Shannon Forsell and the Indianapolis branch of the Richens – Timm Irish Dancers will entertain all.

A representative from the Irish Consulate, Paudie Coffey will be attending the program this year. This is a great event every year and the best way to start your St. Patrick’s Celebration please contact ticket chairman Chuck McGinley at (317) 359-7147 to reserve your seats.

The Irish Airs have been a staple in the Irish music scene in Indianapolis for more than 25 years. Lead by Irishman Brian Cunningham on guitar and vocals, The Irish Airs are the only band to have performed at every Indianapolis Irish Festival since the tradition began in 1995. The band’s lineup is rounded out by Wyatt Watkins on fiddle, T.H. Gillespie on keyboards, and Brian’s son Chris Cunningham on bodhran, mandolin, and percussion. Along with performing at the Indianapolis Irish Festival every year, the Irish Airs have performed at some very notable venues around Indianapolis including the Indiana Roof Ballroom, the Rathskeller’s Bier garden, and the Hilbert Circle Theater. They’ve even made their way across the Atlantic for a tour across Ireland with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir that included a stop at Dublin’s National Concert Hall. This is one of Indianapolis’ can’t miss Irish music acts!
